For more than 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping families protect their investments, navigate important life decisions, and plan for the future. Those relationships ultimately inspired me to create OakVale Risk & Planning.

Before founding OakVale Risk & Planning, I founded and grew Parks Property Management, where I worked closely with clients to protect assets, manage risk, and plan for the future. Through those long-standing relationships, I saw that many families had unanswered questions about retirement income, taxes, Medicare, Social Security, and whether they were truly on track for the next chapter of life.

Today, I help individuals and families evaluate their current retirement strategy, identify opportunities they may not have considered, and gain greater clarity about their financial future.

Because I work independently with multiple highly rated financial institutions, I am not limited to the solutions of any single company. This allows me to focus on strategies that align with each client’s unique goals, values, and concerns.

My perspective on planning is also deeply personal. After being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at the age of four, I later relocated to Arizona to receive specialized medical care and ultimately underwent a life-saving double lung transplant. That experience profoundly shaped how I think about gratitude, resilience, stewardship, and preparing for life’s unexpected challenges.

Today, my wife Ashley and I have made our home in Minnesota, where we are grateful for the slower pace of life, more family time, and the opportunity to watch our son pursue his passion for hockey in the State of Hockey.
